Sr Accountant
Summary:
The Senior Accountant position is a key detailed oriented position within the plant operation. This position is usually held by a qualified accountant and is responsible for statutory compliance, financial reporting and internal control environment of the plant. This position is reporting to Assistant Finance Manager.
Responsibilities:
1. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate statutory submission include statutory audit, income tax filing, sales & service tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing, Inland Revenue, Royal Custom, Bank Negara reporting, Statistic Department, company secretary, MIDA etc.
- Preparation of monthly payments for withholding tax, sales & service tax, income tax instalments
2. E-Invoice
In charge of e-invoice process, include but not limited to:
• Data extraction from system & compile e-invoice data provided by Shared Service Team
• Collate data to ensure it fulfills e-invoice requirements, coordinate with process owners for any missing/invalid data
• Submit e-invoice through Middleware, ensure accuracy and completeness of e-invoice submitted, liaise with Middleware vendor for any technical issues
• Maintain proper records, supporting and reconciliation for all e-invoice data submitted
• Maintain customer & vendor master information in Middleware
• Provide support & advice to other departments on matters related to e-invoice
• Stay up to date with e-invoice requirements, provide recommendation to improve current process and ensure compliance with the legislation/IRB Guidelines
3. Fixed Asset Management
- Involve in fixed asset accounting process, maintain fixed asset movement listing, monitor and ensure proper fixed asset controls, perform physical asset sighting, support external and internal audit requirements on fixed assets, support business partners on fixed asset related matters as required.
- Provide accurate depreciation outlook in accordance to the capex spending plan, analyse variance for monthly review
4. Control & Procedural
- Executes control procedures to ensure the integrity of financial records and safeguarding of company assets.
- Duties include ensuring all SOX controls are in place and operating at all times.
5. Financial Reporting
- Preparation of financial reports in timely and accurate manner
6. Miscellaneous
- Support cycle count, daily treasury management, FEP compliance, custom compliance, intercompany payment and any ad hoc task as assigned.
Requirement:
- Minimum Degree in Accountancy/Finance. ACCA, CIMA or CPA preferred.
- At least 3 years of financial reporting experience in manufacturing environment, preferably in multi-national manufacturing environment. Adding advantage with audit working experience and SAP system.
- Good understanding of accounting flows and processes
- Computerized systems operating experience (SAP preferred)
