Utilities Planner
Position: Utilities Planner L5
Job Location: Senai, Johor, Malaysia
Role Purpose
The Utilities Planner Level 5 provides execution-level maintenance planning support to ensure maintenance work orders are prepared accurately and on time. The role focuses on supporting established processes, maintaining CMMS data accuracy, and escalating issues appropriately.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process maintenance work orders in SAP in accordance with approved job plans, standards, and workflows.
- Support maintenance execution by ensuring work orders include clearly defined scope, labor requirements, and material listings.
- Confirm availability of parts, tools, and equipment for planned work and escalate constraints as required.
- Support the setup, scheduling, and updating of preventive and predictive maintenance tasks based on predefined frequencies and approved strategies.
- Ensure preventive maintenance work orders are generated and scheduled as planned.
- Maintain CMMS data integrity including work orders, task lists, job plans, and basic BOM information.
- Review historical maintenance records in SAP to support routine planning activities.
- Track maintenance planning KPIs and report deviations or risks to the Infrastructure & Facilities Manager.
- Provide accurate planning data and reports as requested.
- Communicate approved maintenance schedules and job readiness information to technicians and supervisors.
- Support plant personnel in using maintenance planning and CMMS processes according to procedures.
- Support defect identification activities and compile reports of monthly PLT walkthroughs.
- Provide planning support for maintenance and repair activities for utility systems.
- Provide work order history and documentation to support failure investigations led by senior roles.
- Demonstrate basic awareness of failure analysis concepts.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
Must possess or have the aptitude and ability to quickly develop an in-depth working knowledge of applicable Hershey processes, SAP, workflows, and procedures.
- Ability to read schematics, drawings and technical manuals and understand complex equipment functionality
- Must be a self-starter, detail oriented, highly motivated, and organized with the ability to prioritize and follow through.
- Must be able to work in a proactive work environment, be an effective motivator, communicator, delegator, and trainer of people, and be able to effectively achieve results through others.
- Sound understanding of Planning and Scheduling principles.
- Show willingness to tackle new tasks and grow professionally as experience grows.
- Experience with failure analysis and reliability methodologies and tools
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
At least Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent training and experience in troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of electrical, mechanical and facilities systems/equipment.
- Minimum of 2 years’ asset maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing or similar manufacturing experiences. Have strong focus on asset maintenance planning using
SAP.
