Summary:
The primary role and responsibility of a Waste Water treatment plant technician is to assist the WWTP specialist to ensure that the discharged water effluent meets all local and governmental regulatory requirements and Hershey’s quality and regulatory compliance standards. This will be accomplished by maintaining the plant equipment and systems as per instructed by the WWTP analyst. The technician is responsible for operating the plant and report if any abnormalities. This work will require specialized knowledge and training to understand the system and its operation. Other functions include, collecting samples, testing and monitoring various stages of the waste water flow, chemical top-up, maintenance work.  The person will display the Hershey Values of customer service, team work, and cooperation with all team members, and support personnel.

Summary of major duties:
•    Ensure the efficient and optimum operations of the waste water treatment plant’s instruments.
•    To respond and conduct waste water treatment plant process control and monitoring effectively and efficiently.
•    To conduct periodic checks and routine inspection to treatment processes according to the system recommendation and checklist. 
•    To troubleshoot treatment processes failure promptly and report to the superior of any abnormalities. Under urgent cases, the person shall be required to work outside normal hours.
•    Monitor day-to-day treatment system operation and maintenance
•    Ensure all treatment processes operating and perform as per operation need, cost effectively, safely and efficiently.
•    To conduct chemical day tank top up and level monitoring including double containment check and clean up if necessary.
•    Ensure the work is performed in accordance with the specifications and approved procedures.
•    To conduct lab test at in house lab
•    To perform related duties as directed
•    To comply with all company policies, procedure and standards

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:  
•     Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical/Environment/Chemical engineering or equivalent.
•    Minimum 3 years of hands on operation of a waste water treatment plant systems or related experience. 
•    Operation, troubleshooting of waste water treatment system; experience in DOE Std.A final effluent discharge industrial effluent treatment system is preferred.
•    Hands on experience of laboratory testing procedures and record keeping is an added advantage. 
•    Knowledge of maintenance for pumps, valves, blowers and related equipment is preferred.
•    Knowledge of basic chemical, biological, environmental and safety concepts.
•    Able to read and speak in English language.
