Position Title: Asst Mgr - Operations and Contract Manufacturing


Location : UK


Job Summary: 


Primary Purpose of this role is Supply from External Sources (outside Hershey manufacturing network) based in Europe and Middle East.


Scope includes Supply of  Innovations, localization of established products (replacing supply from US)  and copacking arrangements to enable late stage customization based on Bulk products shipped from Hershey internal network  - through External supply network


The role is expected to unlock local manufacturing opportunities in Europe and Middle East  in adjacent categories, seasonal and specific sharing formats. This part of the role would require identification, evaluation,commercial discussions and negotiations, contracting and setup of New External Supply sources to enable supply of Innovations. Scope of contract manufacturing would extend across Europe and Middle East geography. 


The second part of the role is Account Management of  established coman and copack network which include areas such as Business relationship, commercial discussions while adding new SKUs , change in contracts, contract terminations, manage esclalations related to payments, supply delays, changes to existing products – reformulation, artwork changes etc.


Major Duties/Responsibilities:  .



Summary of major duties:


Coman Search, evaluation  and understanding coman landscape in target geography

  • Develop data base of potential coman sources for target for specified product formats
  • Initial contact and develop understanding of coman capabilities
  • Partner with multifunctional teams to do a detailed evaluation of the coman source
  • Gap identification and capex requirements.
  • Recommendation of External Supply solution


Commercial discussions/operating model/Contracting

  • Decide/Recommend  operating model for Coman
  • Get cost quote and lead commercial idiscussion based on cost,delivery and volumes
  • Work with commercial teams and provide coman costing as input for financial evaluation.
  • Work with intetnal functions to decide  routing of transations/invoicing entity etc


ContractingSetup and running coman relationships

  • Work with legal team and coman to develop commercial agreement
  • Signed commercial agreement
  • Internal Setups
  • Project manage activities with multfinctional team and Coman resources to gear up for production.


  • Account Management of existing/established relationships



This Role will work closely with Manager  - OBI EMEA and the Relevant Central marketing team lead/Zonal marketing lead as per the Product Category involved. The role holder would need to develop network and relationships with internal support functions located across the region  - such as QRC, plant team, SRA, Legal, Procurement, Import/Export compliance. to ensure that initiatives progress in support of business goals.

  • Basic planning and project management skills.  Able to conceptualize key milestones and Development of end to end project timelines in collaboration with commercial and multifunctional team.
  • Ability to communicate in English (oral and written) ; knowledge of any additional European (French/German) would be an advantage  .
  • Competent in Excel, Word and Power Point. Knowledge of SAP would be an added advantage.
  • Ability to create and present powerpoint presentations to key Stakeholders.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 



Graduate in Science/Engineering/related technical areas or relevant Business qualification with additional certifications /qualification in supply chain/procurement preferred but not a must


At least 8  years in Procurement or Contract manufacturing in FMCG industry  - preferably Food, personal care industry or from Organization that does Contract Manufacturing activities in above areas.
