Senior Finance Analyst – Europe (based In London, UK)

 

The Senior Financial Analyst is the owner of all customer and brand reporting & analyses for the assigned business unit (UK & I) – including Distributor commercial partnership, P&L analysis by Customer by Brand/ Channel/ SKU, driving discussions & aligning action points with cross functional team in line with commercial strategy and profitability benchmarks. Works closely with UK & I Commercial Leadership team to deliver on Business units KPIs; Supports for Outlook preparation for the business unit and builds on Business Plan/ Strategic Plan, prepares related communication materials to senior management & is responsible for driving cross-functional team to deliver the results.

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

Summary of major duties:

Owns business unit’s P&L by Customer and P&L by Brand analysis & insights driven action points. Meets with sales and brand managers regularly to improve margins while optimizing Trade Promotions and Direct Brand investments. Oversees monthly accrual submissions by team to ensure proper cutoff, and budget control; Supports the integrated process of Business Outlook and Annual/ 3 yr Plan including leading the Pricing Strategy for the business unit and supports the Consensus review process of the business unit. Prepares analysis and financials for review before finalizing presentation slides for EU Leadership Team reviews; Drives key financial aspects of distributor relationship such as conflict resolution, annual contract evaluation, FX rate settlement, payment term and credit limit assignment

Supports portfolio and pricing decisions by owning the pricing template. Update the price list by reflecting latest margin structure and other costs that vary by market and by customer

Supports P&L simulation of new innovations and Seasonal portfolio. Gathers and organizes relevant information and prepares P&L projection to assess the viability and profitability of new projects

Assess profitability of Trade Promotion and Marketing activities and provide advice as to which channel/brand/product mix to focus investment; Deliver on the GM expansion agenda of the business unit for short term and long term margin expansion initiatives via SRGM and CI


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:  

 

Education:

Bachelors/ Masters Degree in Finance / Economics / Accounting / Business or relevant professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CA)

Experience:

4-7 years of relevant work experience specifically in a Commercial Finance/ Business Finance role; FMCG/ Foods industry experience would be an advantage
