Summary:

The Customer Sales Executive (CSE) is responsible for profitably growing Hershey’s business at WinCo and Super Store Industries (SSI) through execution of strategic Joint Business Plans. The CSE will work closely with their category management partner to deliver key metrics including net sales, market share, trade spend, and sales activity margin across key segments of Hershey’s business. Responsibilities include business planning & analysis, creating valued business partnerships with customer contacts and Hershey internal business partners, and achieving mutually beneficial agreements through skilled negotiation and understanding of the customer’s business. Leveraging data (both retailers are IRI reporting customers) and advancing the Joint Business planning process with each customer will be crucial to deliver near term and longer-term growth.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve gross sales, market share, trade spend, and sales activity margin targets for customers.
  • Balance both tactical and strategic priorities. Create and implement annual merchandising and promotional plans along with respective selling and execution plans grounded in insights and data.
  • Manage financial responsibilities. This includes judiciously managing and allocating trade funds (maintaining compliance with all Sarbanes Oxley policies) and effectively utilizing and managing PlanEx and High Radius. Monitor and control customer expenses to include Waste and supply chain costs. Understand how business decisions impact the P&L.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with customers (buyer and at minimum one level above) as well as internal business partners within Sales Planning, Sales Finance, Category Management, Retail Partners, etc.
  • Utilize Joint Business Planning and Strategic Growth Pillars to develop near and long-term growth plans.
  • Exemplify the Hershey Behaviors, competencies, and values. Leverage sales skills such as effective communication and planning and organization to balance priorities and effectively plan and estimate sales and trade.
  • Utilize digital knowledge and resources to advance Hershey’s position within customers developing platforms.

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree required

Experience: Minimum 5-7 years relevant sales experience to include headquarter account responsibility with a preference for cross functional experiences in category management or sales strategy and planning.
