Process Optimization Analyst

Role Summary: 

The Process Optimization Analyst reports directly to the GBS Project Lead.  As a member Process Optimization & PMO, this role provides the GBS Process Leadership Team, GBS Workstreams and GBS customers with cross-functional, cross-process, process optimization services to achieve the GBS strategic vision, managing multiple small and medium sized projects within the GBS project portfolio.  The Process Optimization Analyst will work across all process areas and will support the GBS business functions by:

 

  • Providing project management and oversight for all GBS initiatives (with specific focus on Intake, Sourcing, Operation Expansion, M&A Integration) to enable business transformation and drive global process optimization
  • Providing project updates and metrics related to status updates, opportunity savings, and resources

 

In accomplishing the above services, the Process Optimization Analyst will be required to learn and understand the GBS strategy and vision.  The Process Optimization Analyst will support core project management duties throughout the entire project lifecycle including: 

 

  • Stakeholder management
  • Schedule development, monitoring and execution
  • Quality management including risk and issue management
  • Change management

 

The Process Optimization Analyst will be an active member of Hershey’s Global Business Services and will support continuous improvement across the business. 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Project Management

  • Manage Process Optimization priorities using standard project management techniques, assessing optimization and automation candidates, providing timeline estimates for development of projects, while managing the overall project pipelines. Contributes to the development of tactical execution plan and delivery.
  • Provide regular communication updates regarding the Process Optimization program and active projects to the Steering Committee/Management and cross-functional teams regarding projects status, recommendations and needs 
  • Deliver metrics to monitor and assess current performance levels, drive identification of process re-engineering and improvement ideas   
  • Develop project timelines/plans to drive progress 
     

Process Optimization

  • Identify business process re-engineering opportunities as appropriate  
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to identify business requirements of existing (as-is) or to-be processes
  • Leads process & workflow current and ideal state mapping, with outputs of reduced complexity, improvedquality, and more seamless internal and customer experiences.
  • Uses data insights, industry trends and discoveries, and process knowledge and critical thinking to identifyprocess improvement opportunities
  • Facilitate process design and improvement sessions, developing project plans based on outputs.
  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts to create process documentation to be used in implementing process improvements, ensuring alignment with all process policies and procedures 
  • Maintain Process Optimization documentation repository that can be leveraged across the organization 
  • Assist in maintaining existing documentation as changes are made to processes 
  • Establish partnership with Information Services and serve as a liaison with appropriate personnel to understand system capabilities and requirements 
  • Lead and direct cross functional teams to meet all project deadlines, and deliver project materials and objectives

  • Proven ability to establish collaborative relationships with Senior Leaders and key business stakeholders across The Hershey Company  
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders affected by the GBS project portfolio, as well as the GBS Leadership who support these business partners

Education/Experience:

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering or related field preferred.

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience in successfully delivering high quality solutions in high pressure, structured environments using standard project management techniques and disciplines
  • Must be Six Sigma Certified: Green belt
  • Must be PMP Trained
  • Minimum of 2 Functional Areas of expertise in Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Sales
  • Must have advanced Project Management methodologies: Project Management Professional (PMP), Agile, Scrum
  • Must have advanced Continuous Improvement methodologies: Six Sigma, Lean, Value Stream Mapping, Design Thinking
  • Must have a proven experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects/areas of responsibility simultaneously
  • Must have a skill in story telling for influence: Ability to liaise with senior level external supplier and internal stakeholder representatives in a rational and measured manner to communicate progress, issues, risks and solutions
  • Strong preference given to candidates with experience serving as leader, managing performance, and motivating a cross discipline, global team
  • Strong preference given to candidates with experience in talent development and resource allocation
  • Must have high-energy, self-starter, able to be a team builder and change agent
  • Must be amenable to work on Mid and Night shift
