Vendor Master Data Specialist -– 1B

 

Role Summary: 

  • The Master Data Specialist position is responsible in maintaining the integrity and availability of the SAP Master data used throughout the Company in order to ensure accurate, timely data is available for transactional processing related to all Hershey materials and finished products.  This role works in any of the MD domains such as Pricing, Vendor or Customer and coordinates the SAP Master data requirements through an internal PLM systems or other MDM Tool/Solution. MDS also ensures strong compliance to company policies, procedures, Service Level Agreements, KPI’s and master data governance.  The role should leverage existing and propose new technology solutions to improve workflow and master data creation, maintenance and archival.  This role will also support the transformation of Enterprise Master Data Management as a larger corporate initiative.

 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Create and maintain Pricing, Vendor or Customer master records for business units across the company within SAP and related systems.  Before creation of a new record in the SAP master views, assure that due diligence is performed while gathering or securing information from the various business entities.

 

  • SAP Master Data ownership and accountability for Pricing, Vendor or Customer process. Work as part of Enterprise Master Data Management governing the Master Data Process where each change or deviation to process undergoes proper channel of escalation, approval and communication from EMDM LT, Global Data Stewards and stakeholders. Accountable for the accuracy and data quality of each attribute setup or maintained in the system by doing regular data validation, review and measurements.

 

  • Coordination, communication/troubleshooting with key customers on issues, questions, and results relating to the SAP Pricing, Vendor or Customer Master views, set-up processes, and master data domain relationships.

 

  • Documentation and maintenance of Pricing, Vendor or Customer set-up procedures.

 

  • Report generation through extraction of data from SAP and other sources.

 

  • Provides mentoring and training and support to key end users on Material Master process.

 

  • Key resource in implementing the Internal/External audit and testing process, where applicable, by providing audit requirements, relevant documents and other support needed

 

 

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: 

 

Knowledge:

  • Strong computer skills with accuracy
  • Working knowledge and proficiency on core SD, MM and FICO SAP modules/ transactions including Customer Maintenance, Pricing Maintenance, Vendor Maintenance, SAP standard reports & data extractions
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project, and etc.)
  • Some Order to Cash Process Knowledge, Understanding of Related Transactions, Policies and Guidelines and Performance Measurements.

Education/Experience:

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration, or a combination of education and relevant industry experience.

 

 

Experience: 

  • At least 3 years total work experience in Master Data management in Vendor domain.
  • At least 3 year experience working in an ERP System (SAP/Oracle/JDE)
  • Must be amenable to work on a Night Shift schedule
  • Must have a strong verbal and written English Communication Skills
  • Strong preference given to candidates with Engineering background
  • Strong preference given to candidates with experience in different workstreams
  • Must have strong business partnering experience with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must have a degree of critical and analytical thinking skills
  • Must be adaptable to changes
  • Must have the capability to establish rapport and strong collaborative relationships with cross functional teams while also having the ability to push back when needed
