Sr. S4 Data Quality Analyst

Role Summary: 

Sr. Data Quality Analyst will work with various data operational and execution teams to establish data quality polices and standards and implementing it to improve data quality with the help of tools, templates, KPI’s dashboards and act as quality advisory to the data stakeholders.

 

Key Role Outputs:

  • Successfully establish data quality assurance policies, measurement criteria and SLA’s working with stakeholders
  • Successfully identify data quality issues by implementing data quality measures and assurance polices
  • Successfully able to monitor, report and communicate data quality issues to all stakeholders
  • Able to provide inputs in data quality process improvements and can provide updates for continuous data quality improvements
  • Trusted, enterprise, business-driven data dictionary/glossary

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Enterprise Master Data Quality

The Enterprise Master Data Quality Analyst assists with the management of the company's data assets in order to improve and maintain timeliness and quality of the data.  This enterprise role provides the specialist viewpoint when representing enterprise data initiatives.

  • Design and establish data quality procedures for use in the data production process.
  • Establish reporting mechanisms like scorecards, dashboards to demonstrate data quality issues 
  • Preparation of data quality assurance documents such as checklists, guidelines, manuals, templates, forms, etc..
  • Establish data sampling best practices for data quality measures
  • Establish automation procedure for obtaining recurring quality reports
  • Collaborates with IS teams to prioritize and implement changes and strategies
  • Identify, assess, fix, document, and communicate potential quality issues in the way data is collected, stored, processed, or used.
  • Implementing data quality and validation reports in ETL tool i.e. SAP Information Steward for S4 Data migration process.
  • Setting up a data quality dashboards per business needs using Power BI/similar visualization tool.
  • Uses reporting mechanisms (e.g., scorecard, dashboards) to identify gaps and trends in poor data quality or progress against KPIs and metrics
  • Interacting with users to resolve data quality problems using techniques such as root cause analysis as well as collecting data quality requirements.
  • Implement and monitor data quality procedures for use in the data production process.
  • Monitoring of service level agreements and data quality assurance policies.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams and assist various groups in design of test plans, data quality policy decisions, etc. to ensure data quality objectives are met.
  • Design, collect, analyze, and report on data quality assurance / production performance metrics.
  • Implement and execute data clean up measures
  • Provide data quality training and presentations to members of organization.
  • Document data quality assurance contribution to various projects and analyze the return on the use of quality data.

 

Data Governance Documentation Lead

  • Establish and maintain data quality assurance policies.
  • Ownership of enterprise data definitions, business rules, standards, and key design decisions (KDDs) within the enterprise Data Dictionary/Glossary
  •  and BPDs
  • Establish and document best practices for data clean up
  • Leads global data cleansing efforts for the respective master data responsibility area

 

Change Management

  • Coach and train Data Quality Analysts with new functionalities, best practices and process changes when and where identified
  • Establish cadence with Data Stewards for all improvement initiatives or opportunities
  • identified in the Data Quality issues
  • Establish and document process changes for data clean up 

 

Benchmarking, Internal Networking

 

  • Incorporate industry best practices and tools based on emerging trends and changing business requirements.  Benchmark and participate in sharegroups with other organizations in order to advance The Hershey Company’s capability.

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise with SQL for data extraction to build reports using multiple tables for Master data object.
  • Expertise with SAP Master data model/technical structure and relationships between various tables.
  • Understanding and experience with data quality process and various dimensions.
  • Understanding of data migration process including scoping, profiling, classification, mapping, pre/post load validations, reconciliation.
  • Experience with SAP Information Steward or any other data profiling/ETL tool - usage to build reports, setup tasks for scheduled refreshes, data profiling.
  • Hands-on with Power BI is beneficial.
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint)
  • Ability to interpret, establish and maintain data definitions, business rules and standards
  • Advanced SAP skills (Master Data, Order to Cash, Inter-company accounting)

Education/Experience:

 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, Information Systems, Engineering or related field preferred.

 

Experience: 

  • At least 4-6 years of experience in Data Quality.
  • Must have SAP experience.
  • Must have master data experience in any domain (Vendor, Customer, Material, or Pricing)
  • Must have experience in SQL.
  • Strong preference given to candidates with Power BI and Tableau experience.
  • Must have great people management skills.
  • Must have strong critical thinking skills and high attention to details.
  • Must have strong business partnering experience with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must be adaptable to changes
  • Must have the capability to establish rapport and strong collaborative relationships with cross functional teams while also having the ability to push back when needed.
