Category Consultant, Target
Job Location: Minneapolis, MN
ROLE OVERVIEW
Responsible for acting as Category Management Consultant to Sales Partners, Target key decision makers, and internal Hershey customers to drive consistent topline/net sales growth/share target at Target. Assesses trends, analyzes data and identifies key customer opportunities consistent with shopper and P&L strategies. Acts as the Category Expert in partnership with Target to co-create strategic business plans and category initiatives. Uses insights to drive action in the best interest of the salty snacks categories of Pretzels, Puffs, RTE Popcorn and cross-category multipacks.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Support Customer Sales Executives (CSEs) with the creation, negotiation, and execution of the JBP Plan
Build an insights driven product portfolio which meets unique needs of the Target shoppers and consumers
Partners with Shopper Insights in creating and monetizing the Shopper Insights learning plan with Target
Forecast retail takeaway to support supply chain efficiency, reduce waste, and communicate category opportunities and risks to CSEs and the customer
Act as a project lead that can identify category/business opportunities, build a selling story to gain alignment, create an action plan and drive execution with Target and HSY Sales team
Build new tools and capabilities to analyze and grow the Target business
QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced analytical skills, advanced understanding of consumer\shopper behavior and market research strategies, knowledge of consumer sales industry trends
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
Experience: This position requires previous Category Management and/or CPG Sales experience (approximately 3-5 years)
