 Principal Accountabilities

This position reported into Manager- Marketing Finance and will be responsible for being a key contributor to execute Hershey’s strategy for growth and margin improvement through innovation, portfolio rationalization. The AM will partner with the Marketing organization to provide financial guidance and analytics to support key decisions, drive growth and ensure financial objectives are achieved. The AM will be the key contact for all Financial Planning and Analysis for their relevant Marketing teams. This includes understanding all financial aspects of the P&L, variance analysis, data consolidation and special projects.

 

The scope and nature of the responsibilities include the following:

  • Key role in Strategic Portfolio management (Innovation and Discontinuation processes). Develops accurate P&Ls, make recommendations and challenge (where necessary). Ensure innovation is financially sound, aligned to strategy and will maximize growth and profit.

  • Provide Marketing team proactive and value-added business cases financial analysis followed up with sound recommendations to drive profitable business decisions and maximize growth and margin improvement.

  • Manages and/or support budget management for brand investments and SG&A. Leads business partners investing choices and optimized allocation of resources. Performs monthly tracking, provides sound business commentaries, and completes monthly LE processes.

  • Perform monthly financial review (actual results vs plan and prior year). Take a proactive role in Understanding key financial components in the P&L and be able to explain key drivers for material changes in the financial results.

  • Prepare and present monthly financial review and analysis to the Marketing teams and the Finance group. Draw insights and make recommendations to business partners on opportunities for improvement.

  • Take ownership of identified incremental risks and opportunities (versus the forecast/plan) and support Marketing team in efforts to close any gaps to plan.

  • Develop and maintain analytical tools, modeling, and processes to support a deeper level of analysis to achieve targeted financial results.

  • Develop relationships with cross-functional partners and key central services groups. Lead other special projects and ad hoc reporting as required.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Education Requirements:

  • 4+ years of CPG or similar industry experience in financial analysis, financial business partnering or consultancy preferred.

  • Solid understanding and familiarity of financial metrics and P&L fundamentals, and ability to translate numbers into insights and drive commercial stories.

  • Ability to multi-task and excel in an exciting and fast paced environment, streamline and automate processes creating efficiencies for the organization, focus on enhanced analysis and high-quality recommendations.

  • Ability to independently arrive at insights and develop creative solutions to solve complex business problems

  • Demonstrated experience in effectively working across multiple departments to complete a project or resolve an organizational challenge.

  • Effective communicator to various groups of audience (upper management, cross-functional’s)

  • An individual who is curious, approachable, passionate and enjoys finding solutions.

  • Advanced with Excel, PowerBI and Alteryx, SAP S4 and PowerPoint are critical.

  • Undergraduate business, math (or related discipline) degree, MBA, CPA, or equivalent experience.
