Position Summary:
This position will provide marketing and cross functional teams with objective, comprehensive consumer insights and actionable recommendations. This position is a hybrid role, with 2-3 days/ week at our office in Mississauga, ON and will be a dedicated consumer researcher for Canada, reporting into the Manager, Consumer Insights. This individual will partner with Marketing and cross functional teams and will focus on both the confectionery and general snacking categories.
This role will manage external research agencies and Insights partners; understand key business issues; suggest, design, implement and analyze Consumer data to address these issues; and provide actionable recommendations based on the research results. This position will be expected to integrate information from multiple sources to provide larger perspective on recommendations, and will require fluency across qualitative and quantitative methods. This position will be expected to prepare and present unbiased, action-oriented recommendations from the research to all levels within the Hershey organization. Responsibilities:
· Manage third-party research suppliers to design and execute custom research studies, including both qualitative (e.g. focus groups, 1:1 interviews, ethnographies) and quantitative (e.g. surveys) research methods.
· Develop actionable recommendations for Marketing and cross functional teams and present them in a clear, concise manner.
· Leverage multiple data sources (including existing custom research, industry trend reports, etc.) to answer ad-hoc questions that Marketing and cross-functionals have about the consumer.
· Seek out new research methods and suppliers to develop stronger insights more efficiently.
· Manage the yearly research plan and budget along with Manager of Consumer Insights.
· Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities:
· Proficient in traditional research techniques used to support marketing teams, including, but not limited to product testing, concept testing, volumetric forecasting, copy testing, in-market tracking, market mix modeling, package testing, claims testing, segmentation studies, usage & attitudes (U&A) studies
· Strong ability to work with other teams
· Strong communication and presentation skills (both in terms of delivering and creating presentations)
· Working knowledge of syndicated store and/or panel data analysis is an asset
Education:
· Bachelor’s Degree required in Business, Marketing, Psychology, Statistics, Mathematics, or closely related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience:
· Minimum four (4) years of primary custom research experience, preferably on client side
