How will you fit in the big picture?

This position is responsible for supporting the Marketing Manager, Innovation in the comprehensive management and commercialization of the 3 year innovation pipeline. The ideal candidate has strong cross functional leadership, attention to detail and a sense of urgency to commercialize key strategic projects with excellence. In addition, the successful candidate must possess strong analytical skills, leveraging a variety of data sources to develop insights that help build the corporate innovation strategy.
 

What will you do?

As a critical member of the Hershey Marketing team, the Associate Marketing Manager, Innovation will be responsible for:

· Leading a cross functional team through end-to-end commercialization of high profile projects

· Analyzing market data to understand Hershey, competitor and category innovation results to deliver actionable recommendations that inform the innovation strategy and pipeline

· Monitoring competitive innovation in Canada and around the world to understand key trends

· Leading key innovation research projects including briefing, creating concepts, coordinating materials and actioning results

· Overseeing the Hershey stage gate process, including liaising with the marketing team and senior leadership team, meeting facilitation and meeting minutes

· Management and control of innovation budget

· Other ad hoc projects as required

 

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

· Business degree or equivalent experience with a marketing or related major preferred

· Minimum 2 years of progressive innovation and/or brand marketing experience in a Consumer-Packaged Goods or related capacity

· Strong project leadership and relationship building skills – ability to manage a cross-functional team and many stake holders

· Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience across a wide breadth of audiences including senior management

· Overall business knowledge and holistic general management approach

· Strong analytical skills including the ability to turn data into insights and actions

· Experience in a fast-paced business environment and ability to navigate change and ambiguity are essential

· Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AC Nielsen analytics
