The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern will work with all levels of the Hershey Canada organization to understand current results, future expectations and the business drivers that provide opportunities and/or risks to our strategic customers and brands. The Finance team is an indispensable partner of the customer and brand teams, well positioned to lead thinking on how to drive the business forward. You will gain a well-rounded understanding of the various functions within finance that are required to drive healthy growth at a leading consumer packaged goods (CPG) company.  This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization while gaining hands-on experience in the field of financial and business analysis. 

 

What will you do? 

  • Be a core member of project teams throughout your internship, solving problems that have true impact to the Hershey business in Canada 

  • Provide leadership in delivering value and insights to the Hershey organization as a foundation for profitable growth 

  • Learn about the Hershey organization and the dynamics of a leading and high performing CPG company 

  • Be coached by an experienced finance manager, who is committed to your success 

  • Be accountable for delivering the following: 

  • Projects / Planning and Forecasting Processes: assist with month end activities and preparation of monthly forecast submissions, highlighting risks and opportunities versus the previous forecast 

  • Financial Reporting & Insights: develop and utilize sustainable reporting and tools that provide the organization with visibility to variances, risks/opportunities and drive informed decision-making. 

  • Systems:  become an Excel expert and gain experience with PowerBI and alteryx to transform data in a way that will drive actionable decision making. 

 

Minimum Requirements 

  • You are enrolled in a business program at post-secondary institution 

  • You think like a business owner: you connect the dots and recognize how business decisions impact the organization.  

  • You collaborate cross-functionally and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 

  • You dive deep into the root of the issue and provide actionable insights. You see more than one solution to a problem and you drive the solution to the end - even if it’s outside your responsibilities. 

  • You are Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) - Excel skills is an asset! You can gain insights from analytical data and channel that into actionable recommendations for the business.
