Future Opportunities Intern Market Intelligence (Winter 2024)

You will gain an understanding of how leading brands and strong marketing are fueled by data and insights, and what is required to win in the space as a leading consumer packaged goods (CPG) company. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the organization while gaining hands-on experience in the Marketing team. 


What will you do? 

The Market Intelligence intern will work with the Consumer & Market Intelligence Team to support in the collection, analysis and interpretation of data to unlock growth and improve business performance. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams and learn how to use data to tell a compelling story. 

You will: 

  • Support in the assessment of monthly business performance, to identify opportunities and risks through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration. 

  • Understand marketplace trends and leverage various sources of data (i.e., Nielsen data, panel data, industry trend reports, loyalty data, and other internal and external sources) to answer business questions about the category, brands, and shopper. 

  • Supports the brand teams with business reviews, innovation, and other key deliverables dependent on business needs. 

  • Participate in the design, building and implementation of dashboards and reporting, seeking to improve efficiency of processes and optimize the business. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members so that you can understand the business better and bring forward holistic recommendations. 

  • Present insights and data in simplified formats to various levels of the organization. 


Minimum Requirements 

  • You are enrolled in a business program at post-secondary institution in 3rd or 4th year or you are in a post-graduate program. 

  • You are naturally curious, inquisitive, and creative. 

  • You’re not afraid to challenge the status-quo and recommend process improvements to make things more efficient. 

  • You proactively create authentic relationships with other functions and senior management to discuss challenges and incorporate their perspective, creating trust and a mutually beneficial solution. 

  • You think like a business owner. You connect the dots and recognize how business decisions impact the organization. 

  • You can spot and seize opportunities while ensuring deadlines are met. 

  • Having Nielsen POS data experience would be an asset, but is not required.
