How will you fit in the big picture?

The Reliability Lead is responsible for driving asset reliability within the Business Unit by leading defect management, root cause elimination, and restoration of basic equipment conditions. This role is a key member of the BU leadership team and partners closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and build technical capability across the organization. The Reliability Lead champions a proactive reliability culture while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. 

What will you do?

  • Lead and develop the corrective maintenance technicians within the Business Unit, providing daily direction, coaching, and performance support.
  • Own the Defect Management System (DMS), including identification, prioritization, escalation, and closure of equipment defects.
  • Lead Breakdown Elimination (BDE) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts on recurring failures and critical assets.
  • Drive restoration and sustainment of equipment basic conditions through cleaning, adjustment, lubrication, and inspection activities.
  • Partner with preventive maintenance, production, quality, and engineering teams to improve asset performance and reliability.
  • Monitor reliability metrics including downtime, MTBF, MTTR, maintenance compliance, and defect closure performance.
  • Support Hershey Lean initiatives while maintaining compliance with food safety, quality, and EHS requirements. 

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of industrial maintenance, reliability, manufacturing, or related experience.
  • Experience leading technicians or technical teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge of root cause analysis, continuous improvement, Lean, TPM, DMAIC, or related methodologies.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
    Equivalent combination of technical education and relevant experience will be considered.
