Position Title: Associate Manager Commercial Controller

 

Summary: 

 

The Assoc Mgr Commercial Controller, India will help support the Sr. Manager, Commercial Accounting, International for gross to net accounting, Direct Marketing Expenses (DME), & SGA for India. This role is responsible for India the timely and accurate financial results under U.S. GAAP. This individual should possess strong accounting, control and finance abilities; have a process discipline and improvement mindset; and strong collaboration & teamwork. This role will also support global projects and global template solution and India’s projects as it relates to commercial accounting platform.

This position is based in Mumbai, India.

 

Summary of major duties:

 

Commercial Accounting & Control, INDIA

 

1. Lead for complete, accurate and properly controlled financial results for Gross to Net Sales, including Trade and RD&As, Direct Marketing Expense, and SGA ;

2. Perform commercial controls (including SOX & mgmt. audit). Attend to internal & external audit engagement requirements, as it occur.

3. Develop & update regional procedures, ensure robust & effective end-to-end processes & tools for TP/RDA/DME, & strengthen commercial accounting methodology to support global policies/templates and strengthen internal controls.

4. Maintain close partnership and provide oversight and guidance to country finance and commercial team on US GAAP reporting, management reporting and operational analytics.

5. Direct support to evaluate, consult and document proper accounting for regional contracts and agreements, with a specific focus on distributor arrangements & DME vendors.

 

Adhoc & Projects 

 

• Drive continuous process improvement, including but not limited to adopting global template processes and systems, strengthening commercial accounting methodology that are unique to the region.

• Support controllership decisions and changes supporting the global initiatives.

• Support governance and tracking of revenue recognition triggers, ensuring consistency, timeliness and accuracy of financial recognition.

 

Personnel supervised No direct reportees, works closely with multifunctional commercial team and controls & accounting

Budget managed $83.3M in Net Sales, $10.6M in DME, $16.3M in SGA Risk Mitigation FY 2025

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

 

  • Must have excellent skill level in Excel, Very Good Presentation skills, very good understanding of Management Accounting.
  • Knowledge/ability to work within SAP and other financial reporting tools
  • Fluent in English
  • Must have excellent Teamwork, Collaboration and Organization skills. Must possess high quality level of Curiosity, Initiative Taking, Status Quo Challenging, Conflict Resolution, Sensemaking in Ambiguous situations and Enterprise/Process/Systems Thinking.
  • Must demonstrate potential for growth and taking responsibility.  

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

 

Education: BA/BS Degree in Finance / Economics / Accounting / Business. Certified Public Accountant is preferred. Master's degree not required (but can be useful/favorable)

 

Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience, including prior experience with a global public company
