The DGM for GBS Commercial leads the GBS organization in India, providing process excellence and efficiency at the onset.  He/ she is expected to lead the team of ~10 and manage stakeholders across Hershey India leadership team. The role is expected to have strategic thinking on how to unlock value/effort/ resources by continuous improvements.  Though the organization adopts the “India is for India” model, the DGM is expected to have strong ties with the global GBS organization and its Global Process Owners. The cornerstone of the GBS processes is our reliability and our expertise (not only of our processes, but the end to end knowledge) and remains our key value proposition for the organization.

 

Major Job responsibilities

 

  1. 25% - Provide Day to Day Site Leadership
  • Recruit, retain and train resources as needed to assure sustainable business services delivery. Meet / exceed service level agreements made to the business
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through collaboration with business partners, GBS global team and Hershey India leadership
  • Update and develop procedures in alignment with corporate policies and with a focus on local tax and regulatory requirements
  • Implement controls as required by business changes in work stream processes, audit reviews and SOX Compliace as applicable.
  • Ensure compliance with policies for international accounting standards, customer and supplier credit policies, revenue recognition standards, balance sheet review process, and maintenance of authorization levels
  • Develop and execute strategy to proactively maintain working relationship with regional business leadership to ensure business needs are met and resource needs planned

 

  1. 10% - Alignment:

 

  • Maintain alignment with GBS and global process strategies through active interaction with the Global Process Owners, GBS Global Process Leaders and active participation in the GBS governance processes

 

  1. 20% - Process Efficiency & Effectiveness:

 

  • Initiate strategy to review and provide input to targets for global cost/service level performance metrics consistent with the defined process strategies, manage GBS team to achieve targets, communicate GBS team’s productivity and results on a regular basis, ensure that process documentation is complete and current within established standards, keep abreast of new technologies and practices used in process through external learning and networks

 

  1. 20% - Continuous Improvement:

 

  • Develop and execute strategy to review and provide input to process improvement ideas and prioritization, ensure that work plans are completed for improvement initiatives and monitor implementation progress, assist in conflict resolution process work and actively manage the escalation process, ensure that new process work is successfully migrated into the GBS model. Devise ways to automate, design smarter ways of working that is needed to manage fast pace of business

 

 

  1. 25% - Leadership:

 

  • Ensure that team members have a clear understanding of expectations  for their global process strategy and direction, identify barriers to team’s success and support team in resolving major issues, design and manage team development activities – provide training support on selected topics, empower team to lead themselves, coach and assist team leaders / team members with team-based methods and tools.

 

 

Reportee : 2-3 direct reports, team of 8-10 personnel

Education:           A qualified Chartered accountant with 10 to 12 years of experience. 

 

Experience :        

  • Experience and knowledge of the Shared Services  and/or Operations management in a FMCG industry. Supply chain / GTM business role experience will help given close collaboration needed with these teams.
  • Experience in handling Operations or Accounting roles/ auditors/ banks
  • Strong process understanding, project management (efficiency / automation project management experience and exposure on tools and apps)
  • Team / stakeholder management for peers and senior leadership.
  • Able to handle multiple verticals and teams.
