IS - Project Manager

The person in this role is accountable for leading and managing full projects lifecycle from requirements gathering through to deployment and acceptance and be responsible for their successful completion. Primarily managing medium/complex projects using a mixture of different IT solutions, aligned with Hershey Standards and Methodologies. The primary function of this role is to lead operational and strategic projects for Hershey’s International teams, including but not limited to HR, Finance, Commercial, Digital Commerce, Supply Chain, Business Intelligence and Analytics.

 

This individual manages the relationship with International business teams and IS Leads during projects phases ensuring a strong and frequent communication between the stakeholders and the project team. You will also ensure that the agreed project deployment schedule, scope and budget are met successfully, including formal acceptance and handover. Within this position, you will also be required to collate work packages, project plans and presentations in support of our International IS and PMO management teams.

 

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Project/Portfolio Management

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Manage the Project Team/Stakeholders relationship during project delivery and up to the final handover.
  • Produce and maintain project documentation aligned with standard Hershey PMO Methodology.
  • Collate project plans, work packages and presentations in support of project progress.
  • Define and document all phases of the project including deliverable, tasks, escalation paths, milestones and acceptance criteria.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that risks, issues and changes are documented and managed effectively.
  • Provide and negotiate project and resource plans to support project planning and alignment across Hershey IS.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with team managers and project teams to ensure on-going commitment, collaboration and coordination of resources.
  • Inspire and contribute to continual improvement in our project and portfolio processes.
  • Share knowledge and experience to support project improvements around IS Hershey.

 

 

Business Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with International IS and business leaders to assess, document, and prioritize the needs of the business units, focused on addressing the major capability gaps and/or IS opportunities. Able to articulate and align to the IS International governance and strategy, while delivering to the international business.
  • Liaise with Global IS teams to implement and support cost-effective technology solutions.
  • Develop and communicate training and documentation for end users, hold clinics as necessary, and other user-related activities

 

PMO Governance

  • Collaborate on building and establishing the PMO Governance for IS International.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsiblities: 

 

  • Very high proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project Office or other Project Management tools
  • Demonstrable success in delivering client solutions
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, able to influence diverse teams of support staff, engineers, contractors, vendors, developers and managers
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation and ethical thinking in applying solutions for the benefit of customers
  • Working familiarity with Hershey IT technologies
  • Experience in managing complex projects from concept through to successful delivery
  • Demonstrable track record in solving problems and making decisions to support priority alignment in a shared resource environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an intuitive understanding of how best to share knowledge, gain buy-in and influence decision making to support interaction with various levels within The Hershey Company
  • Ability to collaborate with other project managers and program support to ensure program cohesion and work efficiencies

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration, or similar. Master’s degree or advanced certification preferred

 

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management, business systems analysis, software development or deployment, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience managing waterfall and agile projects, involving resources from multiple functions, business units, multi-country and external vendors.

  • Certified Agile PM methodologies/ Scrum Master and/or PMP
  • Experience with Clarity PPM and Rally tools
  • Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods and/or retail industry
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience implementing Software solutions
  • Experience working with 3rd party vendors as well
