Job Title : Senior Category Specialist, Procurement
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
This position will be a local procurement business partner, that works as a robust liaison for alignment between business strategy, policy & process, and Procurement activity. The job focus is to ensure strategy execution, cost-effectiveness, supply quality, timeline, service and compliance in the acquisition and deployment of goods and services in Hershey India. This position may require domestic travel. This individual shall have the skills and capabilities to build, motivate and lead cross functional teams.
Summary of major duties & key responsibilities:
1) Category Management -
Lead the indirects category sourcing strategy development for Hershey India within major spend categories. Collaborate with SME’s (Subject Matter Experts) and Procurement Team to establish setting for competitive bidding and lead the negotiation process, to include the setting of terms and conditions over the span of the agreements. Establish supplier management and assessment metrics and processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Foster teamwork and collaboration to drive change and identify additional opportunity categories to competitively bid. Manage compliance and process following Global Procurement Policy and other policies that are required by the company. Ensure best practice and processes are adapted and core capabilities are achieved.
2) Drive Productivity, Margins & Cash -
Drive productivity and margin for growth for Hershey India. Track and deliver cost saving and cash improvement targets. Routinely pursue knowledge of relevant industries, market trends and technology improvements. Use current information in evaluation of suppliers’ capabilities to maximize value for the organization.
3) Policy Compliance –
Lead agenda to improve awareness and compliance to procurement policies for Indirect spend with stakeholders and set up processes to drive improved compliance while supporting business requirements.
4) Process Improvement –
Identify improvement or automation opportunities in existing processes or process gaps, design and set up process, communicate and manage transition to new processes by working closely with relevant business teams and SMEs within the global organization.
Education: B.E/MBA/Materials Management
Experience: 6 – 12 Years
Essential Knowledge
- Knowledge of sourcing indirect materials/services, especially in Marketing & Trade related spends.
- Knowledge in conducting RFQ/RFP bidding exercises.
- Demonstrate ability to interact with all levels of management with exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate with internal departments seek common ground and establish alignment to common goals.
