Production Planner
Location: Plymouth, IN – Plymouth Plant
Summary:
The Operations Planner will be responsible for translating the top-line Supply and Inventory Plan into a comprehensive finished goods production schedule and coordinating daily needs with various parties downstream.
In addition, the Operations Planner will:
- Generate accurate and timely production schedules and provide schedule flexibility when production does not conform to plan.
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to optimize line time and develop a best fit schedule for all stakeholders.
- Understand the operational constraints (OC) and build the operational plan to accommodate OC (changeovers, labor, packaging, etc.) and clearly communicating the plan cross-functionally to stakeholders in Operations, Procurement, Logistics, Distribution, and Finance.
- Develop a detailed understanding of production line bottlenecks and equipment capabilities
- Track production conformance to plan and utilize analytical capabilities find appropriate solutions for capacity shortages.
- Execute rate review analysis and provide recommendations on rate adjustments to supply planning and the operational team.
- Execute short-term material support activities including submitting purchase orders and purchase order releases, reconciling good’s receipts, and identify solutions to material shortages.
- Conform to Good Manufacturing Practices and be a role model for safe working behavior.
- Manage inventory levels of manufacturing inputs including raw ingredients and packaging to optimize warehousing storage and minimize obsolescence or waste.
- Provide relevant manufacturing information and data to support the master supply plan
- Escalate any short-term capacity constraints or capacity gaps to supply planning to decide on appropriate action
- Develop relationships with corporate partners and leverage relationships to overcome production obstacles
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels and functions including management and retail partners
- Computer skills to include navigational ability in a networked environment and proficiency in Microsoft Word and email applications, intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- High level of analytical thinking and detail oriented.
- Able to process and gather information, gather team necessary to make informed decisions, provide calm and professional direction.
- Experience with JDA Sequencing or Enterprise Supply Planning (Blue Yonder), and Minitab or Excel Data Analysis ToolPak experience a plus
Minimum Requirements and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or a related field highly preferred.
- 3+ years of professional experience in a Manufacturing Environment
- 2+ years of Scheduling/Planning experience Manufacturing Environment
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge working with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) and MRP (Materials Requirements Planning).
- Develop cross-functional skills for analyzing forecasts, analyzing demand, planning resources, inventory control procedures, and materials resource requirements. Assist in maintaining a viable and effective planning organization.
- Consumer Packaged Goods experience or equivalent manufactured goods experience.
