Summary:

The Specialist, SRGM Trade Strategy will support the development of customer investment strategy and tactical trade promotion optimization recommendations within core and/or seasonal product lines for Sales teams supporting  all customer base.  The Specialist will also execute complex analyses that support SRGM Trade leads in the creation and implementation of enhanced promotional strategies for Hershey’s Mexico portfolio.  This will require strong collaboration with other functions including Sales, Demand Planning and Marketing. This is an exciting opportunity to help achieve Hershey’s ambition of having a best-in-class Revenue Management function.

This position requires personal leadership and initiative, critical and strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, and strong customer/channel knowledge and business acumen.

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

20%

Executes complex and comprehensive analyses to support the development of  national and/or channel-level promotion strategies that deliver on Mexico portfolio/brand business objectives.

 

10%

Evaluate Mexico promotional events. Analyse and understand insights from market in order to recommend deeper channel/customer-specific initiatives.

 

30%

Works directly with Mexico Sales teams and Sales Finance to build optimized, event-level promotional plans during the annual Sales planning process, and to conduct quarterly in-year reviews of promotion effectiveness vs. plans

 

10%

Assists in the development, management, and execution of a performance-based trade architecture that incents value-creating marketplace behavior

 

30%

Supervise, control, and manage promotional allowance budget in PlanEx (budget and planning tool), working together with Key Account Managers and ensuring information in the system is authorized, accurate and accrued in the proper accounting period. Also is responsible for provide guidance and support to Trade promotions tool users and coordinates with IS/GBS correct flaws and improvements in system.


Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:  

 

•    Very strong technical skills (e.g., Excel, Powerpoint / Thinkcell, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx), with proven ability to synthesize multiple data sources (e.g., internal TPM and P&L data, 3rd party syndicated data) to develop insights and strategy recommendations
•    Strong analytical skills and business / financial acumen
•    Strong collaboration and communication skills
•    Problem-solving mentality, intellectually curious, strong critical thinking skills
•    Entrepreneurial skills and style 
•    Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
•    Strong knowledge of syndicated data (e.g. IRI, Nielsen) and its nuances
•    Strong working knowledge of SAP is a plus

 

Education:

BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business Administration or Equivalent

 

Experience:

•    3+ years of business experience, with strong preference for multiple years of experience in FMCG analytical role(s)
•    Ideally experience in Sales, Finance, Marketing, or analytical functions (e.g., Category Mgmt)
•    Familiarity with FMCG industry customer base and working knowledge of retail merchandising and in store execution tactics preferred
