Position Title:               Analyst Mex Transportation Payments       

             

Summary:  Briefly state the primary purpose of the job.

 

This position supports the SAP supply chain payment process by auditing and processing exception type global freight invoices and accessorial type charges. The primary focus will be to ensure prompt and accurate auditing and processing of global freight invoices. Collaborate and communicate with carriers to review and resolve outstanding invoices on a timely basis. Transportation Payments Analyst show such skills as accurately coding, entering and recording invoices and credit-and-debit memos for payment and financial reporting; and reviewing and analyzing invoices and expenses for the organization.

 

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities:  Identify the major duties/responsibilities of the job.  List the percentage of the incumbent's time that will be spent on each major duty/responsibility.  Total should not exceed 100 percent.  It is not necessary to list duties/responsibilities that represent less than 10 percent of time.

 

              Time %             Summary of major duties:

1.          60%     •            Audit and Process Exception Type Transportation Invoices.  Focus will utilize SAP freight process to ensure prompt payment to all carriers. Review and follow up payments utilizing internal or external payment services as required.  Utilize carrier contracts and tariff information to validate applicable rates and charges. Use SAP to research and validate charges.

2.          30%     •            Communications with Carriers and Logistics Team.  Work directly with carrier representatives and Logistics Team to review, discuss and resolve billing issues.  Develop and maintain working business relationships with key contacts.  Utilize on-line TMS app and vendor website portals to determine payment status and resolution.

3.          10%     •            Reporting. Responsible for monthly accounts payable journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and Accruals.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:  Be specific with regard to years of experience, special training, applicable degree (or critical college level courses), as well as equivalency to education and experience. 

 

Education:      Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.  Strong English (Verbal and Written) abilities required.

Experience:    A minimum of 2 years Logistics experience in Transportation rates and contracts including experience with software solutions (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint). 

Familiarity with international customs.

Knowledge of SAP.
