HR Technology Project Manager             

 

SUMMARY

The Hershey Business Platforms (HBP) HR Technology Project Manager reports directly to the Manager, HR Enterprise Projects and will serve as a key role in supporting the company’s HR technology stack, driving identified projects to successful implementation.

 

This role serves as a key project manager across HR technology initiatives, working closely with Senior Leaders, Global Process Owners (GPO), and HBP Leadership providing cross-functional, cross-process/technology project management services in support of the LSP strategic plan.

 

The HR Technology Project Manager will be required to learn and understand the Company, the Leading Snacking Powerhouse (LSP) vision, HR transformation strategic priorities, and value pillar process design methodology to provide day-to-day management and oversight of project teams comprised of internal HR and HBP staff, external consulting partners and business unit representatives.

Time % Summary of major duties:

1.            70%       Project Management

Lead and provide management support for HR technology related projects in support of the LSP and HR transformation strategic visions.  Using industry standard management practices and methodologies, drive projects to successful conclusion while delivering on time and within budget. 

Project Management – Lead project execution throughout the entire lifecycle, from business case development, planning and requirements gathering, through to successful project closure and hypercare

Portfolio Management – In collaboration with HBP and HR leadership, business partners and stakeholders, prioritize and manage projects within the HR backlog, building the HR technology prioritized plan

Risk and Opportunity Management – In collaboration with HR and HBP leadership, business partners and stakeholders, identify risks and/or opportunities that affect the HR technology projects and broader prioritized backlog

Industry Expertise – Maintains extensive knowledge and expertise in project management principles and techniques, industry best practices, and methodologies used to enhance ways of working

2.            20%       Project Communication & Metrics

Through collaboration with functional and technical leads, provide regular project updates to HR and HBP leadership/stakeholders: 

Provide regular, clear, concise project updates including status, risk identification and remediation plans, budget tracking, and resource capacity/constraints

Drive transparent communication and collaboration with HR and HBP project team members, as well as cross-functional internal/external business partners to ensure successful on-time project delivery

Support the collaborative review of monthly performance measurement and technology project health scorecards

3.            10%       Build Relationships and Continuous Improvement Mindset

Through collaboration with functional and technical team members and process optimization leaders, identify continuous process and human experience improvement opportunities related to each project: 

  • Proven ability to establish collaborative relationships with Senior Leaders and key business stakeholders across The Hershey Company
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders affected by the HR and HBP project portfolio and transformation priorities
  • Embody Hershey leadership behaviors, communicating clear and consistent messages, relying on data and facts to advocate a position, or overcome barriers
  • Install and maintain agile tools to support HR product owners in managing end-to-end project activities through use of MS Teams, templated PM documents, and/or other programs needed to promote consistent practices

 

Dimensions:  Describe the scope of the position in terms of appropriate measures (personnel supervised, budgets, assets, sales, units processed, calls handled, etc.)

 

  • Project Portfolio              3-5 simultaneous projects
  • Number of Local and Global Stakeholders: 10 plus, including regular communication with HR and HBP senior leaders plus external project support

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:  Be specific with regard to years of experience, special training, applicable degree (or critical college level courses), as well as equivalency to education and experience. 

 

Education:          Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or Engineering required or equivalent relevant experience; Project management certification preferred

Experience:                      

  • 3-5 years project management experience preferably at the corporate level
    • Minimum 3 years proven experience in successfully delivering high-quality solutions in high pressure, global, structured environments using standard project management techniques and disciplines
    • Knowledge of HR technology solutions and implementation planning
    • Proficient in utilizing business terminology, principles and practices of HR communication, techniques, and methods
    • Demonstrated experience in applying project management methodologies, showcasing structured approaches as well as agile and scrum tactics
    • Possess robust analytical abilities inclusive of the ability to read, interpret and apply requirements in business matters
    • Proven experience prioritizing/managing multiple projects and areas of responsibility simultaneously
    • Illustrated ability in establishing effective connections with both internal and external senior level stakeholders in a rational and measured manner
    • Proven reputation as a creative, dynamic, proactive individual with the ability to energize and lead teams, serving as both a change agent and builder of collaborative environments
