Supervisor Marketing Finance         

 

Summary:

The Marketing Finance Supervisor will report into the Commercial Finance Structure and provide financial leadership in the marketing expenses across portfolio (chocolate, spicy and grocery). The primary activity of this position is to be a business partner for marketing, champion innovation in finance, in addition to monitor the marketing budget and support the appropriate reporting of expenses according to financial rules. Lead innovation financial process and strategic project business cases from end to end, advising on net sales and gross margin targets.

Play a business-critical role by providing analytics and insights that support the delivery of the strategic imperatives for Hershey Mexico.

Additionally, this role will act as a business partner for the marketing team, focusing on investments where we have the best ROI. This position provides financial support to the Mexico Marketing Team, including financial analysis, strategic planning, operational analysis, and systems support. Specific areas of analysis would include brand P&L analysis, projects evaluation, marketing expense analysis, costing and sourcing analysis. This will require strong collaboration with other functions including Marketing, Trade Marketing, Finance, Category Management, Insights, and Supply.

This position requires personal leadership, initiative, cross-functional teamwork, ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and strong analytical skills and financial acumen.

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

 

1.          20%     Monthly Profitability Analysis by brand

2.          30%     Supervise, control, and manage DME forecasting and budget with Marketing and Trade Marketing teams ensuring accuracy among business updates ensuring information in the system is authorized, accurate and accrued in the proper accounting period. Also is responsible for provide guidance and support to DME tool users and coordinates with IS/GBS correct flaws and improvements in system.

3.          30%     Financial analysis: Evaluates all significant new proposals and innovation projects. Process owner for the finance function to ensure consistency in analytical principles across the company and ensures sound business decisions are made.

4.          10%     Support adhoc analysis and reporting needs for the function. This will include special projects, management requests and reports, etc.

5.          10%     Develop and automate financial reporting tools, new business analysis and/or exit plan strategies & execute control SOX for compliance

•            Very strong technical skills (e.g., Excel, Powerpoint / Thinkcell, Tableau, Alteryx), with proven ability to synthesize multiple data sources (e.g., internal TPM and P&L data, 3rd party syndicated data) to develop insights and strategy recommendations

•            Strong analytical skills and business / financial acumen

•            Strong collaboration and communication skills

•            Problem-solving mentality, intellectually curious, and strong critical thinking skills

•            Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously

•            Proven leadership abilities.

•            Strong working knowledge of SAP is a plus

 

Education:      •            BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business Administration or Equivalent

Experience:    •            4+ years of business experience, with strong preference for multiple years of experience in FMCG analytical role(s)

•            Ideally experience in Finance, Marketing, Sales, or analytical function (e.g., Category Mgmt)

•            Familiarity with FMCG industry customer base and working knowledge of retail merchandising and in store execution tactics preferred
