Payroll Coordinator
Job Location: Robinson, IL
Summary:
The Hershey Company Robinson plant is currently a 424,000 square foot non-union plant with about 800 full-time employees producing products such as PayDay, Heath, Skor, Milk Duds, Whoppers & Reese’s Pieces in a high-speed complex environment.
At each facility, the processing of the hourly payroll is a key operational/accounting role. The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all accounting, pay, and operational controls are in place and provides the needed controls around this critical area of the plant operation. Payroll is one area that requires an individual that is attentive to detail, current on various tax and reporting requirements and able to work flexible hours within a week to ensure that daily deadlines are met.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the editing and verification process of the hourly workforce daily time punches into the Hershey automated payroll process.
- Process the bi-weekly payroll for the plant hourly employees as well as process bi-weekly payroll accruals.
- Reconcile each month the various general ledger accounts associated with the payroll processing.
- Ensure that all Sarbanes Oxley controls are in place and functioning adequately throughout the entire year.
- Process all payroll deductions and additional earnings on a timely basis.
- Assist with the tracking process for hourly attendance within the prescribed plant policy.
- Accounts Payable and other duties as defined by the Plant Controller.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

- Must have strong skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associates degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
- Minimum of 2 years specific payroll experience required.
- Previous experience in general accounting and payroll practices, Sarbanes Oxley requirements/controls, and employee attendance practices.
