Finance Manager - Korea, China & Japan

Summary:

Finance Manager China & Korea, Japan is the owner of all customer and brand analyses for the cluster– including Profit & Loss (P&L) by Customer by Brand - driving discussions, providing sound financial support in decision making & aligning action points with cross functional team in line with commercial strategy and profitability benchmarks. Finance Manager sets up Outlook, Plan for the business unit, prepares related communication materials to senior management in corporate & is responsible for driving cross-functional team to deliver the results.

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Drives and is responsible for integrated process of Annual Plan, Business Outlook and Strat Plan for the business unit. Sets timeline, task list and deliverables for the cross functional team & delivery. Prepares analyses and financials for review before finalizing presentation slides for Hershey Senior Management team reviews. Holds accountability on the APAC Integrated Business Meeting (IBM) process alongside with Sr Finance Manager APAC.
  • Owns business unit’s Profit & Loss by Customer and Profit & Loss by Brand analyses & insights driven action points. Meets with sales and brand managers regularly to improve margins while optimizing Trade Promotions and Direct Brand investments. Aligns operational plans with the strategy of the business unit and company. Is responsible for identifying and communicating investment opportunities and/or cuts on China, Korea, Japan cluster.
  • Drives business unit’s decision points through data points presented during Consensus and Monthly Business Review (MBR) meetings. Tracks and drives action on Trade Promotion spending, Direct Brand spending, Phasing of Profit & Loss, Gross Profit margin by Customer/Brand etc. Champion and co-owner of the Gross Margin Expansion/Continuous Improvement process.
  • Oversees analyses and actively participates in decision making for product portfolio management in coordination with Commercial team. Is responsible for managing profitability benchmarks including Gross Margins and reviews for the product portfolio of the business unit.
  • Contributes to key financial aspects of distributor relationship such as conflict resolution, annual contract evaluation, Forex (FX) rate settlement, payment term and credit limit assignment.
  • Indirectly coaches & develops Senior Financial Analysts on APAC and works closely with Controlling & Supply Chain Finance teams. Maintains close contact with Global Business Services team members (including Direct Brand Expense (DBE) Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Receivable etc.) in order to improve capabilities and drive decision points through insights & analyses for China, Korea & Japan cluster.
  • Supervises acounting and Global Business Services (GBS) operations in China. Has Legal Statutory responsibilities and is the first point of contact for China Goverment authorities.Oversees month-end closing of Trade Promotion and Direct Marketing Expenses and supports tracking of year-to-date spending and comparing against approved yearly budgets.

 

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Must have excellent skill level in Excel, Very Good Presentation skills, Very good understanding of Management Accounting. Knowledge/ability to work within SAP and other financial reporting tools
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency on Power BI and SRGM tools
  • Must have excellent Teamwork, Collaboration and Organization skills. Must possess high quality level of Curiosity, Initiative Taking, Status Quo Challenging, Conflict Resolution, Executive Presence, Sensemaking in Ambigious situations and Enterprize/Process/Systems Thinking.
  • Must demonstrate team leader skills, developing & coaching others

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree in Finance / Economics / Accounting / Business. Masters degree not required (but can be useful/favorable)
  • 10-15 years of experience in a related field.
