Job Overview

This role applies specialized manufacturing operations expertise to manage and improve processes within a defined area or value stream. It is responsible for entire projects or processes in its scope, using intermediate practical knowledge to drive improvements and resolve operational issues. This role applies specialized expertise to manage and optimize manufacturing operations focused on converting raw materials and components into finished goods. The role organizes and executes work that spans multiple teams or shifts, influencing performance and customer delivery. the SME collaborates with cross?functional partners to address recurring problems and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Accountabilities

1. Manage Defined Manufacturing Processes and Workflows Oversees end?to?end execution of assigned manufacturing processes to achieve schedule, quality, and cost targets. Coordinates activities across shifts or teams to maintain stable production flow and effective handoffs. Monitors performance metrics and initiates adjustments to plans, staffing, or methods when results deviate from expectations. 2. Execute and Support Equipment Repair and Maintenance Coordination Coordinates with maintenance and reliability teams to plan downtime, prioritize work orders, and minimize impact to production. Tracks recurring equipment issues and provides input on root cause investigations and corrective actions. Ensures that maintenance plans are aligned with production needs and that learnings are shared with operators and technicians. 3. Maintain Compliance with Quality, Environmental, and Safety Standards Implements established procedures and control plans to meet quality, safety, and environmental requirements in the assigned area. Conducts basic reviews of non?conformances, deviations, and incidents to identify immediate containment and corrective actions. Escalates systemic risks and collaborates with Quality and EHS to strengthen standards and operator checks. 4. Analyze Operational Data to Improve Performance Reviews production data, scrap trends, downtime records, and throughput metrics to identify improvement opportunities. Evaluates multiple related factors—such as material flow, staffing, and equipment performance—before recommending changes. Uses established problem?solving tools and best practices to develop and implement improvements. 5. Support Cross?Functional Collaboration and Change Implementation Works with engineering, maintenance, planning, and quality teams to support trials, changes, and small improvement projects. Provides operational input on feasibility, risk, and resource needs for proposed changes. Supports implementation activities, including operator training, documentation updates, and monitoring of initial results.
