How will you fit in the big picture?

The Shipping Supervisor (3rd Shift) plays a critical role in driving safe, efficient, and high-quality operations within the plant. This role leads hourly production personnel while ensuring alignment with plant goals, regulatory requirements, and Hershey’s commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This is a primarily 3rd shift position (10:00 pm – 7:30 am) with flexibility required for weekends, overtime, and potential shift changes.

Accountabilities

What will you do?

  • Lead and manage hourly production employees to safely and effectively meet operational goals
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, product quality, and employee safety standards
  • Coordinate daily activities across departments and shifts to support plant operations
  • Analyze performance results, identify gaps, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Investigate safety, quality, and productivity issues and develop action plans
  • Manage daily staffing, timekeeping, and attendance tracking
  • Utilize SAP for documentation, reporting, and maintenance coordination (SAP PM)
  • Review QA documentation and production data to identify trends and drive improvements
  • Resolve routine manufacturing, shipping, and maintenance issues through escalation processes
  • Communicate effectively with team members and peers through huddles, meetings, and one-on-one interactions
  • Champion Hershey Lean initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement

Prior Experience

Minimum Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or a high-speed, complex environment required
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred, ideally in logistics or shipping operations
  • Food manufacturing experience preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Knowledge of shipping industry standards and regulatory requirements preferred
