Supervisor Learning & Development
Job Location: Stuarts Draft, VA
The Hershey Company Stuarts Draft plant is a non-union plant producing a variety of Reese’s products (such as; Pieces, Cups, Take 5, Nutrageous, Sticks, and Fast Break) as well as Whatchamacallit, and Almond Joy & Mounds in a high-speed complex environment. Along with finished products, the Stuarts Draft plant is a Center of Excellence for peanut processing (cleaning, sorting, roasting, pressing, grinding for butter and penuche) as well as chocolate-making.
Summary:
The Learning and Development Leader is responsible for developing and implementing a learning structure to encompass all positions at the site level while creating a culture of continuous learning. This position requires a forward thinker who doesn’t accept the status quo but fosters a mindset of continuous improvement always looking for a better, more effective way to teach employees and develop leaders. The Leader will develop and manage implementation plans as we move to a digital platform for our learning content.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
1. 40% Lead the daily direction of Trainers along with coordinating the activities of manufacturing line level Training Specialists. Lead the plant level Learning and Development Pillar. Actively participate in the corporate Learning and Development Pillar.
2. 40% Utilize data to make informed decisions. Work cross functionally to identify labor needs, create data dashboards to visualize short-term opportunities, and long-term trends and forecasts. Leverage data and trends to create budget to include number of new employees required each year. Organize and simplify skills matrices. Partner with Team Leaders and other departments to develop line and employee specific training plans. Develop metrics to track training progress, identify gaps and create plans to close those gaps.
3. 20% Present material to various groups including new employees, incumbents, plant leadership, and corporate partners.

Interact with Corporate Partners and Resources - 4+ corporate employees
Manage digital integration with outside vendors - 4 external employees
Partner with internal Leaders - 70+ salaried leaders
Manage Training Team - 13 hourly employees
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
· Advanced experience with Microsoft Office suite of products with the capability to learn digital platforms as required.
· Strong analytical skills.
· Ability to break down ambiguous, complex situations into actionable items to develop a simplified process.
· Strong oral and written communication skills.
· Exceptional interpersonal skills.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: 4-year degree in a technical or business-related field.
Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
