Summary:

The Sanitation Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring sanitation standards and MSS compliance. This position will be responsible for Sanitation Personnel across four shifts, supporting all cleans and lead improvement initiatives in all aspects as it relates to sanitation. This position will be required to flex to ensure all sanitation employees are trained and completing their MSS tasks at a minimum compliance of 90%

 

In addition, the Sanitation Supervisor:

  • Lead improvement initiatives in all aspects as they relate to sanitation and MSS compliance.
  • Facilitate and standardize all sanitation processes and cleaning practices
  • Responsible for Sanitation personnel across shifts
  • Lead improvement initiatives in all aspects as they relate to sanitation
  • Responsible for improvement of the sanitation department and related metrics, including Sanitation Audit Scores, 5s, and others
  • Establish departmental goals and execute improvement initiatives to achieve said goals that align with current business objectives
  • Provide guidance and leadership in situations where deviations have occurred or a potential risk has been identified
  • Responsible for training of all affected employees on plant Sanitation requirements, procedures, and practices
  • Responsible for the development, training, and maintenance of all SSOPs.
  • Maintain and coordinate all Sanitation supplies, chemicals & tools
  • Works with the Quality team to execute SQF Plans to achieve/maintain SQF Certification at the facility, and meets all Hershey Salty Snack requirements related to the quality program
  • Works closely with all departments: EHS, Operations, Warehouse, and Maintenance to work with their schedules and demands

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to improve cohesion of the sanitation department with other areas.
  • Ability to initiate and implement improvements with limited resources.
  • Knowledge and thorough understanding of industry best practices as it relates to Sanitation
  • Good problem-solving skills and corrective action/resolution skills.
  • Experience with Corrective Action Systems
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, Access, Power Point
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by plant management

 

Minimum Requirements and Education:

  • 10+ years of food processing experience
  • Min 5+ years in sanitation
  • 1-3 years in a supervision role with similar responsibilities
