Specialist Inventory Control

Summary:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the completion of the cycle count program, posting inventory adjustments, and documenting SOX compliance as directed by the Supervisor - Inventory Controls. This position is also responsible for other monitoring (audit) activities to determine whether the inventory management process is working. The role oversees inventory controls as they work alongside the people and processes in this area of the plant.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist the Supervisor, Inventory Controls in developing, documenting, and implementing standard work practices for all raw material inventory processes.
- Perform daily cycle count activities as scheduled and aligned with the Inventory Lead and post corresponding adjustments.
- Prepare SOX controls documentation (Daily/Monthly/Quarterly/Annually).
- Assist the Inventory lead and plant controller in any internal or external inventory audit process.
- Correct any identified inventory variances and checks inventory levels on packaged and raw materials as needed.
- Manages specific inventory locations to ensure inventory is accurate and ensuring warehouse space is utilized effectively along with remaining clean and safe environment.
- Be a part of the physical inventory process and perform special counts as needed.
- Identify and bring visibility to slow moving or obsolete inventory
- Performs job according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures.
- Monitor that all appropriate inventory transactions are being processed in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Attend required company meetings and training, and participate in constructive discussions.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
- Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of the Company
- Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance the knowledge base and skill set
- Other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment required.
- Certified for fork trucks and stock picker
- Organized with attention to detail
- Understanding of OSHA requirements and safety programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required, verbal and written.
- Previous experience using Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Other inventory or warehouse management system experience (Lean Manufacturing, Kan Ban, FIFO, Min Max) highly preferred
- Food Manufacturing experience a plus.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 3-5 years experience in manufacturing
- Bachelors degree in related field (preferred)
