How will you fit in the big picture?
What will you do?
- Lead development, implementation, maintenance, and verification of site food safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with Hershey Product Excellence standards, GFSI requirements, and applicable regulatory expectations.
- Coordinate internal assessments, third-party audits, validation and verification activities, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen system effectiveness.
- Execute and enhance food safety monitoring programs, including sanitation verification, allergen control validation, hygiene assessments, and environmental monitoring.
- Lead hazard analysis activities, evaluate risks, identify gaps in preventive controls, and recommend improvements to food safety plans and procedures.
- Analyze quality and food safety data, conduct investigations, identify root causes, and partner with cross-functional teams to implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing, engineering, and business teams by providing guidance on food safety, quality systems, auditing, troubleshooting, and incident resolution.
- Coordinate food safety and quality reporting, communicate key risks and trends, and deliver training that promotes employee ownership and accountability for food safety programs.
- Coach team members and partners on best practices in testing, verification, documentation, and compliance management.
Minimum Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Food Quality & Safety, Microbiology, Food Science, Manufacturing Quality, or a related field.
- Experience supporting food safety and quality systems, audits, investigations, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Experience working in a food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Food Safety, Quality, or a related technical discipline required.
- HACCP, SQF Practitioner, Preventive Controls, or related certifications preferred.
