Assoc Mgr Corporate Communications



A communications professional seeking to make a positive impact focused on communicating key business priorities for Hershey International with a focus on Mexico/LATAM/Canada business units.

Role is responsible for assisting with the development and execution of leadership messaging, change management, transformation, strategic communication plans and employee engagement/cultural events across Hershey International. Role also collaborates with business partners to support the communication objectives and manage the reputation of the organization and achieve business goals by actively contributing to editorial planning, content development, and the development of creative approaches and thinking to internal communications.

Reporting to the Sr. Mgr., Leadership and Transformational communications, the successful candidate will (1) be able to work in a global, fast-paced environment with competing and changing priorities, resources and time demands (2) possess high performing project management and organizational skills (3) be adept at navigating and aligning business relationships and influence (4) be a strong writer and editor for multiple communication platforms with expertise in AP style guide and grammar, and (5) understand digital first approaches, measurement reporting, audience segmentation and trend analytics.



Develop and Execute Internal Communication Plan

  • Design, verify and deploy Hershey International internal messaging, communications and meetings in coordination with Corporate Communications and HR leadership.
  • Assist in the planning and development of effective leader and employee meetings and communications for Mexico, LATAM and Canada.
  • Prepare and edit organizational content, including intranet stories, organizational announcements, stakeholder reports and other internal communications.
  • Draws on stakeholder understanding to advise business partners on optimal message content and timing for target audience segmentation.
  • Partners with visual communications and editorial to align content with visual identity and content standards.
  • Ensure company’s professional writing integrity following AP style and grammar.


Project Management and Stakeholder Development

  • Delivers strong execution of projects, setting expectations, deliverables and accountabilities with business partners, agencies and communications team.
  • Utilizes project management/collaboration tools to manage timelines, deliverables, accountabilities and share work among business partners and communications team members.
  • Vendor Management – With oversight, manages outside supplier relationships, including functioning as the day-to-day liaison between the company and the assigned supplier.
  • Provides inputs for budget planning and management, and ensures timely processing and payment of vendors.
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting and measurement.



Communications analysis and measurement

  • Uses surveys, media and online tracking and other listening techniques to measure efficacy of communications tactics and programs.
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting and measurement of internal communications.




Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to write for broad and diverse audiences and in digital formats.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish; knowledge of French or Portuguese a plus
  • Experience in communicating authentically, concisely and convincingly in diverse organizations; ability to translate broad and complex ideas and concepts to clear and compelling communications.
  • Ability to multi-task, handling volumes of information and working under strict timelines.
  • Acts with conviction, seeks new ideas, and suggests alternatives.
  • Attention to details, resourceful, responsible and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent agile collaboration, influence, negotiation and inter-personal skills

                            Bachelor in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or related fields




                            4-5 years experience in public relations with extremely good writing skills

A focus on one the following areas would be advantageous: internal corporate communications, marketing, media relations, human resources, public policy.
