This position is responsible for ensuring an overall controlled environment through the effective accumulation, analysis and reporting of cost and financial data and material control processes at Hershey Manufacturing Alliance partners. This individual will participate in plan development and outlook analysis while maintaining balance sheet integrity and compliance with US GAAP. The position will have oversight for several plants and will need to coordinate effectively with both the Manufacturing Alliance staff and partner location staff. This individual will provide information and interact with account managers, plant controllers, business development and director level employees both within Hershey and at partner locations.




Review and approve initial standard cost estimates for assigned locations; monitor bill of material and co-man cost sheets for accuracy; maintain vendor pricing/actual cost data; create and maintain a selling price list and input to SAP; manage the monthly Mfg Alliances A/R accounts and issue monthly report; communicate with partner locations to resolve past due invoices; reconcile scheduling agreements to ensure proper posting and payment to partners; create monthly sales and cost of sales reports to monitor and perform transactional activity to ensure proper reporting, investigate and resolve potential discrepancies through inventory movements and follow up during the month

Monitor and report on cost center variances at assigned locations; provide outlook updates and assess risks and opportunities; provide key data and develop/maintain spreadsheets needed for monthly outlook process; review operating variances on a weekly basis and provide information to Account Managers, Controller, and Manufacturing Alliances Management as needed.

Play a key role in annual Plan preparation; analyze changes to Plan throughout the year

Perform month end close activities including recording accruals, internal controls, updating and consolidating forecasts and interpreting results to present a narrative that is tailored to the specific audience to drive decisive decision making.

Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor inventory transactions; ensures account integrity for other reserves & overall balance sheet.

Assist in preparing documentation and auditing for Sarbanes Oxley internal control requirements





Minimum knowledge and skills


          Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principals and corporate financial policies

•         Knowledge and experienced application of manufacturing cost standards

•         Plant operational experience

*         Ability to plan, organize and seek change

*         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

*         Good communication and team leadership skills, ability to work well with people

•         Strong computer and SAP skills




B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent




2-5 years of manufacturing accounting or equivalent. SAP experience.
