Summary:

Position committed to quality and food safety carrying out activities directly and indirectly; designing, developing, obtaining, manufacturing, distributing and/or selling our products to satisfy our customers and consumers.

  • Responsible for keeping people free from hazards or injuries in the workplace.
  • Develop safety, health and environmental programs to minimize losses due to injuries, illnesses or contamination.
  • Promote the elimination of unsafe practices and conditions.
  • Conduct safety and environmental assessments by departments to determine improvements in the safety and environmental programs.
  • Verify the implementation of the safety, health and environmental procedures.
  • The responsible of this position is in all locations where the Company has operations.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and make sure the right implementation of the SMS and EMS.
  2. Looking for and implement new EHS strategies in order to maintain the EHS’s KPI as lower as a worldwide class company. Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting statistical data related to occupational illnesses, accidents or contaminations.
  3. Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety and environmental regulation compliance.
  4. Investigate accidents, injuries, or occupational illnesses to determine causes and preventive measures.
  5. Conduct or coordinate Leaders’ training in safety and environmental laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring, and use of safety equipment.
  6. Recommend safety, health and environmental equipment/process to reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and biological work hazards.
  7. Coordinate the integration and operation of the emergency brigades, participating in their integration, training and drills to have an employees’ team able to respond in an emergency in an optimal way.
  8. Review plans and specifications for new projects in order to determine if all safety and environmental requirements have been met.

 

Knowledge and skills required:

  • Safety, occupational health, environmental & civil protection laws and standards.
  • ISO 14001 & 45001
  • English capabilities to stablish communications with knowledge of safety, health and environmental technical language.
  • Leadership / People supervision; Personal organization; Proactive; Negotiation; Clear and concrete communication (oral and written).
  • Education: Engineer (Industrial, Chemical or similar)
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in similar job.
