Job Title: Consultant Precision Analytics

Summary

The Consultant, Precision Analytics will play a critical role in accelerating the company’s precision retail and decision intelligence capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of data science, commercial strategy, and retailer partnership, translating advanced analytics into scalable, revenue-driving solutions.

 

This individual will lead the development and deployment of next-generation precision tools, including store clustering, localized activation models, KPI-based reporting and forecasting. The Consultant will partner cross-functionally with Sales, Category Leadership, Marketing, Revenue Management, Supply Chain, and Media teams to embed predictive insights directly into commercial decision-making.

 

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical expertise with business acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

 

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

 

Precision Capability Development

  • Support and enhance store clustering methodologies leveraging POS, demographic, behavioral and syndicated data
  • Build scalable frameworks for micro-occasion and tent-pole event activations
  • Develop and deploy executive-ready dashboards and interactive visualizations that translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Datamine Hershey’s data platforms to uncover new insights and answer business questions; present findings back to peers and leadership to drive business decisions
  • Maintain and optimize the multi-year strategic vision for Hershey’s space and geospatial analytical platform
  • Become the subject matter expert on the current toolset along with marketplace capabilities within this space

 

Commercial Impact and Execution

  • Translate complex analytics into clear, retailer-ready growth initiatives
  • Partner with Sales to embed precision recommendations into Joint Business Planning
  • Quantify incremental lift, ROI and margin impact of precision initiatives
  • Identify solutions to address analytical gaps by working cross-functionally with groups such as Information Services (IS) including data architects and data scientists
  • Influence internal Hershey decision-making and planning based on insights derived from working with peers and datamining

 

Enterprise Enablement

  • Contribute to the development of a unified decision intelligence ecosystem
  • Automate reporting and insight generation to reduce time to decision
  • Drive adoption of precision tools through training, enablement and stakeholder engagement
  • Establish performance measurement frameworks and continuous improvement loops

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot issues with space and geospatial analytic tools to ensure data is accurate and complete; maintain records of nuances with the data
  • Leverage analytical tools such as Space Planning (JDA/Blue Yonder), Alteryx, PowerBI, Databricks and more
  • Question the status-quo and continually challenge yourself and the team with what is possible; develop test and learn opportunities to identify new ways to grow sales for Hershey’s categories

 

Minimum Knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:

  • Intellectual Curiosity
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, PowerBI, Alteryx
  • Foundational knowledge in statistical modeling, clustering techniques or machine learning methodologies
  • Familiarity with assortment analytics frameworks
  • Ability to structure ambiguous business problems into data-driven solutions
  • Project Management and organizational skills
    Strong communication skills, including with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to distill insights from data and explain key takeaways


Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • 3-6 years of experience in analytics, CPG, geospatial, data science or related fields
  • Prior Category Management and/or CPG Sales experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
