Manager, Shopper Insights

Summary of Role

The Manager of Shopper Insights leads all insight work for Omni in partnership with the Category Management, Sales and Omni Marketing teams to drive insights to action and help profitably grow business for Hershey, the category and the retailer through digital shelf and advanced capabilities.  This position reports into the Senior Manager of Shopper Insights (Foundational, Seasons, Omni).


What you will do…

Drive Insights to Action
• In collaboration with the category management, sales and omni marketing teams, identify learning needs, and develop and execute a yearly insight plan that helps drive incremental and accretive growth for Hershey and our retail partners.
• Manage research projects from start to finish and work with teams to drive insights to action.
-Meet with key stakeholder to outline objectives 
-Determine methodology and research suppliers 
-Manage research suppliers
-Analyze and translate insights to business and channel
-Identify additional relevant information sources (behavioral, secondary, previous primary research, etc.) to enhance insights
-Deliver unbiased action-oriented recommendations and partner with team to develop and deploy solutions to customers 

 

Champion Omni Insights
• Ensure insights are at the heart of strategies and initiatives with our internal and external customer teams, by staying closely connected to key partners to proactively identify business opportunities or issues and provide insights and recommendations as needed through previous research, panel data, or commissions new research.
• Is a subject matter expert on Omni insights and supports team by providing insights and/or presenting at key customer meetings.

 

Develop Shopper Insights Team & Self
• Support the broader Shopper Insights team by sharing learnings, and ensure Center of Excellence projects, where applicable, are implemented for their focus area.
• Continuously look for ways to expand knowledge of new insight methods and storytelling approaches and share with Shopper Insights team.

Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees preferred but not necessary 
• 4-8 years of Shopper and/or Consumer Insights strongly preferred; will consider Category Management and/or CPG experience with a proven track record of success in leu of insights experience
• Experience with qualitative (digital shop-alongs, focus groups, 1-1s, ethnographies, etc.) and quantitative (consumer decision trees, digital shelf research, A&Us, DIY surveys, etc.) research methods
• Previous Omni insight experience preferred  
• Preferred experience with panel data such as Numerator, Nielsen, Circana
• Travel required: ~10-20%
