Summary:

The Retail Development Team develops and deploys capabilities that support our go to market model for the Hershey Retail Team. This role focuses on  new capabilities, on-going support of existing capabilities, and analysis of strategies continue enhancing the CSE side of our tools (ie Routing, Salesforce THRIVE, Analytics, PowerBi, CRMA). The capabilities and evolving deployment model are intended support meeting customer team goals through delivering communication, processes, and technology to advance the competitive advantage of our retail sales organization & partnership with customer teams. This leader works on the internal capabilities roadmap to enable long term success, which could involve designs and execution of third party deployment strategies to meet customer needs and budget demands.

 

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Support Retail Product Manager to provide current business prospective and input on the needs of the retail & customer teams to enhance the and prioritize the solutions on the THRIVE road map. This may include supporting value case creation.
  • Support Customer Teams (cross-functional), as a SME Subject Matter Expert on THRIVE web, to ensure they are getting what they need from our software and our Retail Team, identify gaps, propose solutions, work with product manager and leader to execute. Partner on test and learns specific capabilities and deployment. This includes both deployment and post analysis work.
  • Retailer or Product line expansion: work with new customer team or integration team to assess current state, assess the type of coverage needed, complete an intake template to identify gaps, create and execute a plan to solve for gaps, propose multiple solutions and design a test for coverage (ex. Owned FT, owned PT, Broker), execute the test & assessment of results, present the results & recommended path forward to leaders.
  • Manage third-party relationships that compliment and advance our deployment model. Support a clear and ongoing assessment of industry coverage models to include 3rd party capabilities, reporting, costs, data, ROI. Maintain a matrix on Hershey’s options and points of contact in the industry through share groups and 1:1s. Use this insight for any coverage expansion questions that arise.
  • Compile & Assess and share monthly, the amount of time spent at each retailer and collaborate with RLT on impact to ROI for retail coverage. As well as balance of coverage between CMG and Salty.
  • Help define and support the long term vision and strategy that enables a retail salesforce of the future that maintains our leadership in the marketplace.  Identify opportunities and present business solutions that maximize Hershey’s reporting and retail deployment model. This many include helping bring to life ROI & perfect store tracking.
  • Work through direct report providing guidance on current monthly reporting scorecard & work cross functionally to connect that person & support the further automation and advancement of existing reports for Retail, Customer Teams, and Home Office Leadership.

 

This role works cross-functionally with all Sales leadership, IS partners, HR/L&D, and broader Retail Development peers to provide clear communications and cutting-edge capabilities that not only deliver selling capabilities but provide optimization and efficiency of our retail team. Continuous improvement to the ROI of our Retail Team and support to the broader Retail team goals are the main objectives. Therefore, estimate to spend time working with the retail team at stores ~1/month and attending TDMs.

 

As a member of the Retail leadership team, you play a significant role in ideating and advancing thought leadership to maximize our competitive advantage through our structure and capabilities.

 

All solutions should be rolled out with clear concise organized OCM in partnership with L&D, lead training with our Retail Team members, and full assessment should continue beyond rollout to ensure success.

 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 5+ years of experience, Retail & CSE experience preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of the Confectionary Market in all classes of trade
