Summary:

This role sits at the intersection of data science, commercial strategy, and retailer partnership, as a business product owner translating analytics into scalable projects and revenue-driving solutions.

As a part of our broader capabilities team, the Product Owner will lead a cross-functional team to develop and deploy capabilities that support deployment of the Hershey Retail Team. The model will ensure we are at the right stores, at the right time, and prepared to take the right actions, in the most efficient way possible. This role focuses on technology advancement (AI, Agents, Automation), on-going support of existing capabilities, and analytical analysis of strategies. The capabilities and evolving deployment model will support a dynamic customer goals landscape. 

Customer Team Impact & Execution

  • Support the THIRVE Retail Product Owner, to represent the needs of the customer teams for enhancements/ innovation of THRIVE CG Cloud. Maintain working value cases to support PI planning.
  • Support Customer Teams, as a SME Subject Matter Expert on THRIVE web, to ensure they are getting what they need from our software and our Retail Team
  • Compile & Assess and share monthly, the amount of time spent at each retailer and collaborate with RLT on impact to ROI for retail coverage. As well as balance of coverage between CMG and Salty.
  • Consistently Assess Retailer Prioritization, Actionability & Coverage needs: work with new customer teams to assess the type of coverage needed, complete an intake template to identify gaps, create and execute a plan to solve for gaps, propose solutions and design a test for coverage. Execute the test & assessment of results, present the results & recommended path forward to leaders.

Cross-functional Leadership & Enterprise Enablement (Transform)

  • Business Product Owner: Define long-term vision and tools that enable HSY Retail to maintain leadership in the marketplace. Identify gaps in reporting and retail deployment model, present business solutions, work with PO peers and lead your POD cross-functional team to execute.
  • Governance and Value: Build Value cases to assess NPV of future projects, and speak on behalf of your proposed projects in governance/funding forums (TPT/HIPS/USLT)
  • Work through user stories in Rally, provide feedback in Grooming, Demos, UAT.
  • This may include opportunity to assess third-party coverage that complements our deployment.
  • This role works cross-functionally with all Sales leadership, Customer Teams, IS partners, off-shore IS support, HR/L&D, and broader Retail Users where clear communications are critical to delivering rollout of capabilities.

Analytics

  • Lead the automation of retail reporting and performance KPIs for company & customer teams.
  • Troubleshoot potential data issues and completeness; maintain records of nuances with the data; leverage analytical tools such as Alteryx, PowerBI, Salesforce, Databricks and more
  • Question the status-quo and continually challenge yourself and the team with what is possible; develop test and learn opportunities to identify new ways to grow sales or enhance analytic views of the business

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive toward progress & deadlines; project Management and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Advanced abilities in Excel, PowerBi, SQL, Alteryx
  • Foundational knowledge in Rally, Agile or Waterfall Project Processes
  • Ability to structure ambiguous business problems into data-driven solutions
  • Strong communication skills, including with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to distill insights from data and explain key takeaways

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 6+ years of experience, Product Management or similar experience preferred
