Role Title: Wholesale & Convenience Executive

Summary: 

 

 

We are seeking a Wholesale & Convenience Executive to join our Hershey’s team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of channel performance, working with the channel lead, our distributor partners and cross functionally within Hershey to ensure continued sales growth.

 

The role will focus on revenue delivery in terms of net sales, gross profit, category/market share and operating income by developing and executing business plans, collaborating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to deliver results. This role will be working hand in hand with our established distributor team on the ground & the respective National Account Managers from the distributors, with exposure to our agency partners that are helping to unlock opportunities within Convenience & Out-of-home (OOH).

 

This role offers the opportunity take ownership of key sectors within the Hershey UK’s fastest growing channel. The role will provide exposure to Hershey’s evolving UK business, with opportunities to learn and collaborate with a highly skilled cross functional team. 

 

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities

 

 

Market Strategies & Execution

  • Ownership of the Foodservice & Petrol/Travel (P&T) sub-channels: this role works with the Channel Lead to deliver profitable sales growth through the distributor that is built upon effective sales & customer marketing strategies
  • Identifies key customers and opportunities within channels, develops and executes joint business plans with distributor partners
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities to inform sales strategy
  • Communicates and consistently monitors progress of the execution of the strategy with internal and external stakeholders.

 

Distributor & Agency Management

Oversees the delivery of the sales goals through team at the distributor through well defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The KPIs reflect and show sales strategies being executed as planned across the market. KPIs includes but is not limited to: gross invoice sales, in-country sales, promotional spend, distributor trade inventory. The role owns the delivery of the sales KPIs.

 

 

Internal Collaboration: Customer Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory

  • Articulates ideas & insights that support the strategy to deliver sustainable growth for the channel through appropriate positioning, price, product, promotion and place
  • Co- owns and co- leads the execution of a healthy P&L which includes but is not limited to: total business, brands, channel and customer P&Ls. The individual in role has an understanding of Hershey & distributor financials, driving and influencing the directions taken by distributors toward financial expectations of the Hershey Company
  • Cross-functional collaboration to align on channel plans and ensure seamless execution
  • Managing the trademark approvals process for new foodservice partners, working cross functionally with Regulatory, Marketing, Legal & the Global team.

 

 

Data Tracking/Analysis & Other Ad-Hoc Duties

  • Analyzing data to showcase performance and data-driven insights to key stakeholders
  • Tracking and managing trade spend for channels / accounts within remit
  • Ad-hoc support for the Channel Lead for broader channel initiatives and tasks (e.g. Field Sales, Third Party Activations, reporting).

 

Education:

 

 

Preferred bachelor’s degree or above holder,

 

 

Experience:

 

 

2+ years experience in a commercial role (e.g. sales account management, buying) with a branded FMCG business, distributor or wholesaler.

Exposure to Convenience, Foodservice, OOH and/or P&T channels is highly preferred.

 

 

Skills & Abilities:

 

 

  • Business Acumen & Analytical skills: understands basic business dynamics and concepts. P&L experience/exposure, building/executing JBPS and/or understanding of revenue growth management principles is preferred. Comfortable using data and translating it to drive insights and action.
  • Action-oriented & proactive: comfortable operating autonomously and proactively managing priorities. A growth mindset, willingness to learn and with drive to deliver exceptional results is vital.
  • Entrepreneurial: acts with an ‘owner’ mindset: navigates ambiguity, is resilient in the face of challenges and driven to constantly raise the bar
  • Communication skills: Strong written & verbal communication skills. Comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders at various levels of the hierarchy
  • Team player & relationship builder: the right candidate can operate effectively working in diverse teams and collaborate cross functionally
  • Fluency in the English language is essential.
