How will you fit in the big picture?

The Hershey Company is seeking our next Senior Director Sales, to profitably grow Hershey’s business at Target. This position represents the primary interface for Hershey with this customer. This leader is accountable for delivering revenue, sales activity margin, and market share targets as an integral part of the food class of trade. It will directly manage the sales, forecasting, revenue management and customer marketing resources that support Hershey’s business for Target and indirectly lead the cross-functional resources (i.e., Sales Finance, Operations).

 

This role demands excellence across the key fundamentals of account management related to delivering strategic business results for the customer, shopper, and Hershey organization.

What will you do?

• Ensure the development of key objectives including Sales, Sales Activity Margin, and Market Share, and deploy resources and activities to successfully achieve Hershey's goals for Target.

• Lead the holistic omnichannel strategy in collaboration with the customer and internal partners. Drive Joint Business Planning (JBP), including coordinated investment of trade, WASTE, and media (Roundel) to deliver profitable growth.

• Call on senior executives and management at Target and across relevant divisions to secure distribution and merchandising, negotiate sales programs, and develop strategic business plans grounded in consumer and shopper insights.

• Develop sales and marketing objectives and strategies that support priority brand positioning, brand equity, and marketplace initiatives based on a comprehensive understanding of products, competition, and consumer and shopper behavior.

• Oversee development of the customer's annual business plan, strengthen brand equity, and profitably grow market share through deep consumer and shopper understanding.

• Lead a direct and indirect team to achieve customer goals by maximizing sales performance through:

  • Elevating Target USA's presence and influence within the Hershey organization
  • Ensuring rigorous planning processes are established and consistently followed
  • Monitoring sales performance, trade spending, and market share
  • Setting sales targets and providing support to achieve them
  • Coaching, developing, and onboarding sales team members
  • Sharing best demonstrated practices across the team

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: BS/BA in Business Administration or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 13+ years of progressive sales and/or marketing management experience; experience with establishing strategic relationships with key customers

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $210,800 to $263,500 per year. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of job‑related factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skill set, education, and training.
