How will you fit in the big picture?

As a critical member of the Hershey Canada sales team, the CSE will be responsible for profitably growing Hershey Canada’s business within the Convenience & Gas team, to achieve the assigned objective/plan, including gross sales, net sales, market share and profit contribution.

 

 What will you do?

  • Closely collaborate with internal stakeholders and with a range of customers to develop annual Business Plans focused on listing new products, achieving permanent distribution and developing & executing a comprehensive promotional calendar

  • Assess data and translate into an impactful selling story supporting customer & Hershey ambitions

  • Forecast sales and trade setting targets and developing 1-3 year growth plans

  • Responsible for delivering all aspect of the P&L in accordance with planned targets

  • Work cross functionally to develop and deliver high impact sales presentations

  • Manage customer promotional and merchandising strategy

  • Manage a range of customers, distributors and brokers to expand brand presence and grow sales

  • Coordinate with marketing teams and cross functional partners to ensure new business opportunities are aligned with Hershey brand strategies

  • Establish and communicate priorities for the retail organization to win in stores.

  • Some travel may be required (Customer meetings, Head Office meeting, etc based on location)

 

Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education Requirements

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience:

    • 5+ year’s progressive sales experience in a Consumer Packaged Goods or related capacity

    • Confectionary or Snack Food experience an asset, with sound knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape

    • Convenience and Gas customer knowledge and experience is valued

  • Technical Skills

    • Above average knowledge of Microsoft office software (PowerPoint and Excel mandatory)

    • Knowledge of AC Nielsen and or POS data with ability to analyze and interpret data

    • Work with systems to forecast volume and trade on an ongoing basis

  • Additional Skills

    • Ability to effectively forecast supply requirement in a dynamic environment

    • Translate data and strategy into a selling story

    • Above average knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape

    • Sales presentation skills; Written and verbal communication skills

    • Customer relationship management skills & experience

    • Entrepreneurial spirit; Forward thinking and ability to challenge the status quo

    • Persuasive negotiation skills

    • Teamwork/Collaboration: Develop strong cross functional working relationships

    • Strong desire for personal and professional development
